What are ratings & reviews?
Ratings and reviews are your opportunity to share insights about your interactions with other users on our platform. By leaving ratings and reviews, you contribute to a more transparent and trustworthy marketplace for everyone.
For you, ratings and reviews are a way to build your reputation as a dependable buyer or seller. It also empowers you to make better-informed decisions by viewing the experiences others have had with the users you engage with.
This system enhances the overall experience on our platform, ensuring smoother and more confident interactions when buying or selling.
How Does It Work?
Our review system enables you to share your experience after interacting with other users on the platform. You may be prompted to leave a rating following an eligible interaction, such as after a message exchange in DoneDeal’s Message Centre, phone reveal or an enquiry made directly to a dealership on DoneDeal. In the future, we will include interactions such as WhatsApp conversations.
When leaving ratings and reviews, you can provide a star rating and choose from simple review text suggestions to best describe your experience.
How Is It Displayed?
Ratings and reviews are displayed to provide users with helpful insights into their interactions on the platform and build a safe marketplace. A seller’s overall rating will appear on any active ads they have, and in the future, it will also be shown in the Message Centre. Ratings are presented as an average star score out of 5, offering a simple and clear way to help you make informed decisions about who you are interacting with.
Next to the rating stars, the reviews include themes that reviewers have highlighted about their experience, which are grouped to show how often specific comments have been made. This allows you to quickly understand what others have highlighted about their experiences with this seller.
Users that have previously received feedback on Adverts* and have an account on both platforms have been given the once-off opportunity to share their Adverts feedback to DoneDeal. This option allows you to bring over your Adverts feedback, highlighting the positive interactions you’ve built up, and help you start to build trust in your profile on DoneDeal!

Receiving a review, in turn, can enhance your reputation on the platform. Positive ratings and reviews from other users help showcase your reliability, whether you're a seller, a buyer or both. It’s an opportunity to build trust and make your interactions even more successful.
Can I Edit or Remove Reviews?
Once you’ve submitted a review for another user, it can’t be edited anymore.
If you’d like to request the removal of a review you’ve left, please reach out to our Customer Support team. Keep in mind that we generally don’t remove reviews you’ve received unless it clearly breaches our terms and conditions or the law. To determine this, we can only review the details of an interaction if it happened through DoneDeal's Message Centre.
Privacy and Consent
If your interaction with another user is eligible, we will send you an email to leave a rating after 4 days. If you have more than 7 eligible interactions in one week, you will not receive emails for all of them.
You can opt out of receiving these emails anytime from the email itself, as well as from your DoneDeal profile. Should you wish to start receiving them again, you can also opt back in from your DoneDeal profile. To change these settings go to your profile, scroll down to the Notification Preferences section and toggle "Feedback Requests" on or off.
