Our Accessibility Commitment

We are embedding accessibility into the heart of how we design, develop, and deliver services. Our work is guided by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, which we consider the standard for inclusive digital design.

DoneDeal’s long-term objective is to achieve full compliance with the EU Accessibility Act by 28 June 2030. This commitment reflects our belief that accessible products are not only a legal requirement, but a core part of delivering trusted, high-quality digital experiences for everyone.

Our approach is centred around the four WCAG principles:

• Perceivable: We ensure content, text, and media can be consumed by all users, including those using screen readers or requiring text alternatives. 

• Operable: We support a variety of input methods and assistive technologies, making navigation and interaction seamless. 

• Understandable: We prioritise clarity and consistency to help all users easily interpret and interact with our services. 

• Robust: We design our systems to be compatible with current and future assistive tools, ensuring long-term accessibility.

In house Accessibility Champions and Expertise

Accessibility is championed internally by a network of five dedicated Accessibility Champions:

• 2 from our Web application team
• 1 from our iOS native app team
• 1 from our Android native app team
• 1 from our Design and UI/UX function

Each champion has undertaken structured accessibility training via Deque University, bringing specialised knowledge to their domain. They serve as advocates for accessibility in all design and development decisions.

Scope of Accessibility Compliance for Substantial Changes

We ensure that all substantial changes to our platforms are developed in accordance with WCAG 2.1 AA requirements. These include:

1. Functional Overhauls
   1. Major new features (e.g., chatbots, voice interfaces)
   2. Replacing core interactions (e.g., forms or service flows)
2. User Interface Redesigns
   1. Large-scale visual or structural updates
   2. New navigation patterns or menu layouts
3. Platform Migrations
   1. Moving services between technical platforms or frameworks
4. Backend System Replacements
   1. Implementing new systems that alter the user experience or interface
5. Changes in Intended Use or Target Audience
   1. Expanding beyond internal users
   2. Including audiences such as minors or users with cognitive disabilities

All such changes undergo accessibility testing, review, and where necessary, remediation before deployment.

Known Limitations and Ongoing Improvements

We acknowledge that some parts of our platforms may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. These may include:

1. Certain legacy interface elements
2. Incomplete keyboard or screen reader support in some flows
3. Inconsistencies in colour contrast on older templates

We are actively addressing these through phased redesigns and prioritised backlog work, with input from internal accessibility champions and user feedback.

We are committed to ongoing compliance through:

1. Continuous Monitoring
   1. Automated accessibility scanning integrated into our development pipelines.
   2. Manual testing using assistive technologies on key workflows.

   1. Conducted by trained internal staff and/or external accessibility expert softwares.
3. Compliance Documentation
   1. We maintain detailed records of accessibility efforts, known issues, testing results, and resolutions.

We aim to acknowledge your message within 5 working days and provide a resolution or progress update within 20 working days. If your issue is not satisfactorily addressed, you may escalate the complaint to the relevant national enforcement body as per EU guidelines.
