These standards help:
Create a better experience for buyers
Improve the quality of enquiries you receive
Maintain a fair and professional marketplace
1. Remove Sold Ads Promptly
Ads that reference “sold” in the title, description or images may be removed.
Once a vehicle is sold:
Remove the listing immediately, or
Mark it as sold through your account
Leaving sold ads live leads to buyer frustration and reduces trust in your dealership.
A clean, up-to-date profile improves engagement and lead quality.
2. Use the Correct Category
Ads must be placed in the appropriate section.
Car parts and accessories belong in the Parts & Accessories section
Wanted ads must be placed in the Wanted section
Misplacing ads to gain extra visibility creates confusion for buyers.
Ads posted in the wrong section may be removed. Repeated misuse may result in warnings or account restrictions.
3. Avoid Spam or Irrelevant Keywords
Only include accurate, relevant information about the vehicle for sale.
Do not:
Add unrelated brand names
Insert popular search terms to increase views
Use misleading keywords
For example, adding “Toyota BMW Audi Mercedes” to an ad for a different vehicle is not permitted.
Ads containing excessive or misleading keywords may be edited or removed.
Clear, honest listings build buyer confidence and generate higher-quality enquiries.
4. Display Accurate Pricing
Every ad must:
Show a genuine asking price, or
Clearly state POA (Price on Application)
Placeholder pricing such as €1, €1234 or similar is not permitted and may result in removal.
Transparent pricing improves buyer trust and increases serious enquiries.
5. Do Not Post Duplicate Listings
Each vehicle should only have one active ad at a time.
Duplicate listings:
Confuse buyers
Create clutter in search results
Reduce overall marketplace quality
Duplicate ads may be removed.
Repeated duplication may result in warnings or account restrictions.
6. Use Clear, Professional Images
Images must:
Accurately represent the vehicle
Be clear and professional in quality
Reflect the actual condition of the car
Ads may be removed if images:
Contain emojis
Include excessive or distracting text overlays
Use misleading visuals
Do not clearly show the vehicle
High-quality imagery directly improves engagement and buyer confidence.
What Happens If Rules Are Broken?
DoneDeal reserves the right to:
Edit or remove ads that breach these House Rules
Issue warnings to dealerships
Restrict posting privileges
Suspend accounts for repeated breaches
Please note:
If your account is suspended or disabled, your subscription remains active and billing will continue as normal.
